Thank you. It is very basically ... how people living in the Victorian era see the future. They are living in the steam age so many "science fiction" ideas of that time involved steam-powered vehicles & a mixture of outlandish inventions mixed with the traditional Victorian clothing & articles of that time. In the tube world it has narrowed a lot so that only a very few steampunk ideas are ever seen but it is better than nothing! His goggles are very "Steamy" as people in that era needed to wear them for many modes of transport. If you read the Wikipedia explanation, that explains it quite well. :)
